When I was 14 y.o. I got my first guitar. I would buy songbooks of popular music that would have diagrams of where to put your fingers to make chords. Later I learned to play along with records. I had a neighborhood band at that time and would play for the kids in the neighborhood. After high school, I attended the University of Redlands for a year, where I took Jazz and classical courses. It was after that that I played in many bands. Original Rock. Country, 7 piece swing band. After ten years of that, I slowed down on the music and started a business. After I sold my business and retired, I moved to Lake Havasu City with my wife and started concentrating on music full time again. Swamp Donkey is a total blast. We strive to take the audience on a musical journey through Country, Classic Rock, Reggae, Swing and much more. Always engaging and played with musical integrity.
Grew up in the Los Angeles area and started playing at 9 years old. My first band made its debut at a block party in West Covina, Ca. The party turned into a full fledged riot between party goers and the LA County Sheriff's riotsquad. It made headlines in the local news paper,“ROCK BAND MAKES DEBUT CAUSES RIOT!”. Great publicity, but bad for business. Over the next 50 years, I played in numerous local bands wherever I lived: LA, Phoenix, Louisville, Havasu.
